RIAN: About 200 Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers were at the site of the Russian Armed Forces strike on Sumy

About 200 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were at the site of the Russian army’s attack on Sumy, RIA Novosti writes, citing representatives of the security forces. This includes the command of the operational-tactical group “Seversk”.

There were about 200 military personnel, including the command of the Seversk OTG , the source noted .

Information appeared about officers of the 95th and 80th separate airborne assault brigades, the 21st separate mechanized brigade and the 117th territorial defense brigade of Ukraine. In total, more than 60 Ukrainian servicemen were eliminated at the site of the meeting of the command staff of the joint task force.

Russian forces, as reported by the Russian Defense Ministry, struck Sumy with Iskander-M operational-tactical missiles on April 13. Moscow had confirmation that the attack hit the site of a meeting of Ukrainian military leaders and their Western colleagues.

Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry added that Kiev “continues to use the Ukrainian population as a human shield.” It places military facilities and holds events involving military personnel in the center of a densely populated city. Russian forces do not attack residential buildings or social institutions. The same cannot be said about the Ukrainian military, the Defense Ministry stated.
