American actor Macaulay Culkin , who played Kevin in the Home Alone film series, honored the memory of actress Catherine O’Hara, who played his on-screen mother, on his Facebook account (the owner, Meta, is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia).
“Mom. I thought we still had time. I wanted to sit next to you. I heard you, but I still had so much to say. I love you. See you again,” Culkin wrote.
The actress’s most memorable role was Kevin’s mother in the Home Alone duology, as well as the wife of an impoverished businessman, Moira, in the series Schitt’s Creek.
O’Hara was also a voice actress, providing voices for characters in films such as The Night Before Christmas, Chicken Little, Over the Hedge, Monster House, and Brother Bear, among others.
Over more than half a century in the industry, she won several Emmy Awards, starred in dozens of films and television series, voiced numerous animated characters, and became one of the most recognizable and distinctive actresses of her generation. However, for most Russian viewers, O’Hara will forever remain the mother who forgot her son Kevin at home before Christmas. The actress passed away on January 31st.
