Russians warned about the dangers of counterfeit Dubai chocolate

The number of counterfeit Dubai chocolates has increased worldwide due to interest in the original product, The Daily Mail reports. According to the publication, the counterfeits contain the dangerous substance 3-MCPD, which is formed during the processing of palm oil and is a potential carcinogen.

It is noted that specialists from the State Chemical Veterinary Office of Stuttgart tested eight chocolate bars imported from the UAE and Turkey. Experts found dangerous substances in six of them, including the poisons aflatoxins and glycidol.

Earlier, gastroenterologist Nuria Dianova said that the Russian analogue of Dubai chocolate with the addition of caviar, shrimp, fish and deer meat could be harmful to health. According to her, such sweets are especially dangerous for the stomach. In addition, traditional chocolate with the addition of local berries, such as cranberries, currants or cherries, would be a more appropriate symbol of Russian patriotism, the doctor believes.

Before this, restaurateur Maxim Kaplunov said that Dubai chocolate , which has already become a gastronomic trend, is dangerous to health due to its high sugar content. According to him, the dessert’s special feature is the filling of thin fried kataifi dough and pistachio and sesame pastes.
