There are several ways to resist Western structures like USAID, which harm foreign countries with the help of grants, political scientist Sergei Markov told NEWS.ru. According to him, the optimal method is not just to ban the activities of such organizations in Russia, but to create our own similar programs.
In order to resist them, it is necessary to create your own programs. If you resist “from poverty” – it is simply to close them. Unfortunately, we use the second option more often. It is also effective, but still worse than creating your own projects , – the expert said.
The political scientist is convinced that it is not enough to simply sabotage the work of such organizations. Considering that they actively promote American political values by funding certain structures, an equal response to “enemy” programs would be working with interested activists abroad, the expert specified.
Earlier, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev spoke of the need to stop the activities of Western non-governmental organizations such as Human Rights Watch (HRW), Amnesty International and Transparency International. In his opinion, they serve to incite political hatred.
