Alexey Dodatko, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of Krasnoyarsk Krai, told RIA Novosti that, starting March 1, alcohol sales hours will be reduced by four hours in stores located in apartment buildings or adjacent areas.
Currently, the retail sale of alcohol is permitted in all stores in the Krasnoyarsk Krai from 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM. According to the new law, stores located in apartment buildings and adjacent areas, as well as so-called “nalivayki,” will be prohibited from selling alcohol from 9:00 PM to 10:00 AM.
“This is a logical and balanced step in the gradual process of regulating alcohol distribution in our region. Their primary goal is to protect the health and safety of residents. Alcohol sales should not create inconveniences or threats to citizens, especially in their immediate areas of residence,” Dodatko explained.
The day before, State Duma deputy and deputy chairman of the Budget and Taxes Committee Kaplan Panesh proposed a complete ban on alcohol sales at Russian airports.
According to him, this ban will also affect restaurants and duty-free shops. The reason for this is drunken travelers, who often cause disturbances after boarding, disrupting and delaying flights. This results in multi-million dollar losses for airlines and ground services.
Earlier, a drunk passenger caused a disturbance at the Novokuznetsk airport and broke down a door.
